Yes, we are all sold out! The Niagara Hindu Samaj bought a block of tickets for the matinee show of Shakuntala at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto for members wishing to give their loved ones a special treat on Valentine’s Day. We are pleased to announce that all of our tickets are now sold!
Shakuntala is based on the Sanskrit classic love tale written centuries ago by the legendary Sanskrit playwright Kalidas. The play is suitable for kids as well and it's performed entirely in English, which makes it accessible to young people. It stars Anita Majumdar and Sanjay Talwar, as well as a group of multi-racial and multi-cultural actors, and is directed by a young Bengali-Canadian Director named Charles Roy.
The bus transporting the group to the Harbourfront Centre will leave the Shiv Mandir at 11 AM, so make sure you get to the Mandir by 10:45 AM at the very latest! After we watch the play, we will catch a lovely vegetarian dinner at The Host, one of the official sponsors of the play, before returning to the Shiv Mandir. We expect to return to the Mandir by 9 PM.
