Welcome to the official website of the Niagara Hindu Samaj! The Niagara Hindu Samaj
is a federally registered Canadian charity. The objective of the Samaj is to serve
the Niagara community through services geared towards creating an awareness and understanding
of the Hindu and Jain faiths.
Since its inception in the early eighties, the Samaj has served the Niagara community
in various ways. The Samaj manages the Shiv Mandir (Temple) in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
The Shiv Mandir provides devotional and other services to its visitors.

As part of the Niagara Folk Arts Festival, the Niagara Hindu Samaj’s Open House held its Open House on Wednesday, May 20 from 5 PM to 10 PM.
Titled “Indian Panorama: Glimpses of India’s Cultural Heritage”, the Open House was an enchanting evening featuring great Indian vegetarian cuisine, terrific displays, enthralling entertainment and guided tours of the temple! Visitors to the Open House included Mr. Malcolm Allen, Member of Parliament, Welland; Mr. Jim Bradley, M.P.P. (St. Catharines) and Minister of Transportation, Province of Ontario; Mr. Winston Heron, President, Board of Directors of the Niagara Folk Arts Council, and Mr. Sal Sorrento, Vice President, Board of Directors of the Niagara Folk Arts Council.

The Niagara Hindu Samaj is proud to announce that the Ontario Trillium Foundation
has awarded the Samaj a 3-year grant to support programming in heritage and wellness
activities at the Shiv Mandir.
Supported programs include yoga and Indian classical dancing classes. The Samaj is
committed to contributing to the well-being of Ontarians, especially those living
in Niagara.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Ministry of Culture, receives $100
million annually from Ontario’s charity casino initiative.
