Gurukul is the Niagara Hindu Samaj’s Sunday School for religion and heritage classes. The focus of Gurukul is to develop young minds that are proud of our ancient and rich cultural and religious heritage.
Children and youth from 5 years and above are welcome to join Gurukul.
Gurukul is where true learning is brought within students’ REACH (through Religion, Ethics, Arts, Culture, and Heritage)!
Gurukul programs are absolutely free! In addition to the topics included in REACH,
students can also learn Hindi at no cost if they opt to do so. Hindi classes for

Programs

Gurukul believes in a healthy mind in a healthy body! We teach students the value of ethics, to be proud of our heritage, and to live by the tenets of the Sanatan Dharma.
Students enrolled in Gurukul learn yoga, which inculcates inner awareness and self-
Gurukul students also learn about the Sanatan Dharma. They are introduced to our epics, our sanskaras, and our religious practices. They are taught to be upright, moral, ethical, and devoted to the One Eternal Lord, in the best traditions of the Sanatan Dharma.
At Gurukul, students learn through doing. They practice arts and crafts, they discuss the scriptures, and they grow increasingly confident in themselves and proud of who they are.
All our Gurukul programs are free for students enrolled in Gurukul. Students may opt out of our Hindi language class if they so desire, but all other areas are mandatory.
